Established in 1998, the Rebecca and John Moores UCSD Cancer Center DNA sequencing facility is a shared resource for Cancer Center members as well as general public investigators. The Shared Resouce generates high quality sequences (800+ bp) with speed and flexibility to meet the growing demands of scientific researchers. Sample data turnaround time is 2 business days with all systems running. Business hours are 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

Your sequencing request will be scheduled to run on a sequencer only after all your samples have been picked up.

We will make your data available to you as soon as possible! Please help us decrease turnaround time by:

  1. Making sure you provide us with your entire order when you leave your template and primer(s) to be picked up.
  2. Providing us with the full template and primer amount at the proper concentration. If you don't provide us with the enough template and primer, those sequencing reactions won't be able to be run until we receive more template and/or primer. This will delay your data!
  3. Labeling your tubes with names identical to those submitted in your request.

Acknowledgement in Published Papers

In the event that your sequencing data is published, please include the following acknowledgement in your paper:

DNA sequencing was performed by the DNA Sequencing Shared Resource, UCSD Cancer Center, which is funded in part by NCI Cancer Center Support Grant # 2 P30 CA023100-23.

Such acknowledgement in your publication is very important for continuing NCI support of this shared resource.

We appreciate your cooperation and support!
